Celebrating a Decade of Impact: 9-year Partnership between PATRIP Foundation & SRSP
For nearly a decade, the PATRIP Foundation has worked in close partnership with SRSP (Sarhad Rural Support Programme) to improve the lives of communities in remote and underserved Pakistan-Afghanistan border-regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the border areas of Chitral and North Waziristan. This collaboration, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office through KfW Development Bank, stands as a powerful example of sustainable development and regional cooperation. With joined forces in Germany and Pakistan, we were able to improve community resilience and contribute to more stability in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border areas.
The recently published SRSP storybook brings to life the stories of the people whose lives have been transformed by this partnership. From children accessing education for the first time to communities benefiting from modern healthcare facilities, these projects have made tangible differences in thousands of lives.
Some of the most notable achievements include:
- Infrastructure Development: Nearly 100 infrastructure projects completed, including 75 schools, 3 bridges, and several key road networks.
- Access to Education: Over 10,000 children, including 4,000 girls, are now attending quality schools built or rehabilitated through the partnership.
- Health Interventions: 7 healthcare facilities have been established, delivering health services to over 18,000 persons.
- Empowering Farmers: More than 5,000 farmers have been supported with modern agricultural techniques for improved food security.
What sets this partnership apart is its unique ability to operate in fragile and conflict-affected regions, fostering trust and collaboration among diverse stakeholders. By working with local communities and government authorities, the PATRIP-SRSP partnership has tackled some of the most complex challenges in the region, and delivered socially embedded infrastructure in geographically and politically challenging contexts. With this milestone, PATRIP celebrates the unwavering dedication of all involved partners, including the German Federal Foreign Office, KfW Development Bank, SRSP’s dedicated staff, and the communities who played an active role in shaping their future. These collaborative efforts have laid the foundation for sustainable progress.
